Inner Child
The two figures at the center of this painting are me as a child- my younger self, or "inner child"- and the current, ever-changing version of me. The figures are hanging together in a picture frame to represent how, even though the world shifts around us and we may lose sight of who we are from time to time, we're still the same bright-eyed child who saw potential and magic in everything.
The darker parts of this painting, with the moon and stars, represent the parts of myself that I keep hidden from the world or deem unworthy. The bright, high-energy sides of this painting represent the light within me and the childlike energy that I will forever carry within me, no matter how dark life gets.
This painting was inspired by my desire to remind people that this inner light is never fully lost.
